Catholic Education Week
In May we Celebrate Catholic Education Week
We celebrated Education Week in 2018 from April 30 to May 4. During this time, we showcased the great things happening in our schools and communities. It was an opportunity to celebrate all of the learning and the wonderful education that our schools and communities provide. As a Catholic school district, we celebrated the reasons why Catholic education is the best choice for students and families.
Our Catholic schools exist to inform, form and transform students according to the message of Jesus as it comes to us through scripture and the living tradition of the Church.
The thing that distinguishes our Catholic schools from that of others is the broad curriculum. All subjects in our Catholic schools are taught from the perspective of faith. In its broadest sense, Catholic curriculum is a worldview shaped by the Catholic conversation about the meaning of life and its purpose. Education that is Catholic, analyzes all truth and knowledge through the lens of faith.
While a Catholic education does include formal religious education classes, it is so much more! It includes the open expression and celebration of faith and opportunities for a relationship with God through the entire school experience.

Our Catholic schools work together with the home and the parish to provide a holistic Catholic faith community that fosters each child’s growth in faith. Our parishes are active participants in our school liturgies and our school members serve on local pastoral councils and are active in many ministries in our local churches. Religious instruction and school liturgies provide opportunities for students to learn about and celebrate the sacraments while the parish and parents share the vital role of preparing our children to receive their sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation.
Grade 2 - First Reconciliation
Grade 3 - First Communion and Confirmation
Grade 4 and up - Rite of Christian Initiation for Children or Teens
