The summer program allows students to complete eight weeks of Work Experience, Summer Internship (for example: 4th Class Power Engineering and Health Internship) or the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP).
Many students say that this is a great option for them because they do not have room in their schedule during the regular school year to explore these opportunities.
This program affords students the flexibility to participate in these engaging programs and still fulfill the demands of a full academic schedule. This is a great example of how Lakeland Catholic School District focuses on personalized learning opportunities.
This summer will be the third summer that this program has been offered to our students and we anticipate that we will have over sixty students completing the program in the communities of Cold Lake, Cold Lake First Nations, Elizabeth Métis Settlement, Bonnyville and Kehewin Cree Nation.
We are planning to expand this program in the future to Waskatenau and Lac La Biche.
The Summer Off Campus Coordinator will be happy to meet with you to determine an appropriate placement.
